Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA), a global leader in rapid-fire, easy-to-use business analytics software, announced that Disque Denuncia and Pague Menos Drugstores have both chosen Tableau for their business analytics. With Tableau, the companies can visualize and interact with their data to discover real-time insights and make data driven decisions.

Pague Menos, one of the largest drugstore retail chains in Brazil had new challenges that demanded a new solution for business intelligence. After careful evaluation, the network of pharmacies adopted Tableau Software last year. Employees from different departments and different stores throughout the company use Tableau to access relevant information in real time and according to their business needs.

"Since 2000, the company has been growing 20 percent year over year, and we need to maintain the consistent growth," says Pedro Praxedes, CIO and Director of Logistics at Pague Menos. "The dashboards generated by Tableau offer real time views from the distribution center to the details of each store, so we can see our progress."

Disque Denúncia, a crime-fighting organization, has been using Tableau since 2012 to extract information from its SQL database and ensure reliable information of its criminal intelligence data.

"Tableau has met important demands at Disque Denuncia,” said Adriana Nunes, technical coordinator of Disque Denuncia Rio de Janeiro. “We are able to easily see and understand our resources costs and speed of delivery of information to law enforcement authorities. With Tableau, reports that used to take 15 days are now produced in two hours-- and without needing the support of technical experts."

Last month Gartner positioned Tableau as a “Leader” in its 2014 Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms* report. This is the second year in a row that Tableau has appeared in the Leaders quadrant. As the report states, “For this Magic Quadrant, Gartner defines a business intelligence (BI) and analytics platform as a software platform that delivers 17 capabilities across three categories: information delivery, analysis and integration.” The full report is available at no charge from the Tableau website at http://www.tableausoftware.com/gartner-magic-quadrant-2014.

“Our visual analytics software has been a disruptive force for business intelligence, helping organizations glean insights to their data like never before,” said Miguel Nhuch, Vice President of Sales for Latin America for Tableau. “People in Brazil and around the globe are leveraging Tableau to help them see and understand their data, find insights and have a real impact on their business.”

Tableau brought the topic of disruptive analytics to Brazil as it hosted events for clients and industry insiders in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro this past week. The events offered fresh insights on the topic from featured guest speaker Gartner analyst João Tapadinhas, who made a presentation on disruptive analytics.

Nhuch was also in his native Brazil to share how companies in South America’s largest economy are using Tableau to harness the power of big data. In December, Nhuch was in Brazil to preview Tableau 8.1, the latest update since the rollout of the Portuguese version of the software. Clients in Brazil are among a who’s who, including Facebook, Rede Bandeirantes, Locar, Granja Regina, Ibope, Disque Denuncia, Pague Menos and the Brazilian Olympic Committee, to name a few.
