Will my old user name and password work in the new forums?
No. If you had a user account on the old Tableau Training & Support Center, you must create a new account for the new forums. Your new account will give you access to the forums and let you comment on blog posts.
How do I create a new account on your web site?
Creating an account gives you access to the forums and lest you comment on blog posts.Follow the steps below to create a new account on the Tableau Software web site.
- Go to http://www.tableausoftware.com/user/register.
- Type the following information:
User Name: The name you will use to log in as well as what will display with your posts (e.g., John Smith).
Email Address: This can be any email address; however, we recommend that you use the same one you’ve used to register to the product with us. - Then click Create new account.
- You are sent a validation email with further instructions. Follow the instructions in the email to validate your email address and set your password. If you do not receive an email within an hour please contact reghelp@tableausoftware.com.
- After setting your password you are automatically logged in and can post topics on the forums and comment on the blogs.
What do I do if I forget my password?
If you forget your password you can request to reset your password on the Log-In page. Click Forgot Password?, type either your user name or email address and further instructions will be emailed to you.
How do I change my password?
You can change your password after logging in by clicking the Change Password link under your user name. Your user name displays on all pages that allow you to participate with comments (e.g., blog, fourms, etc.). On your account page, type a new password (twice) and click Submit.
I registered but I have not received any emails, what do I do?
We are aware that sometimes the automated emails from our site get blocked by spam filters. If you do not receive an email within an hour of creating an account, you should email reghelp@tableausoftware.com. Please include your user name in the email. You will be given a temporary password that you can use to log in. After that you should change your password to something you can remember.
Do I have to have an account to comment?
Although we prefer customers create an account on our web site and comment as registered users, we do allow you to submit comments on the blog without creating an account. Simply click the Add new comment link for a particular blog post. At the bottom of the post type your Name, Email, and your comment and then click Post Comment. Your comment is submitted to a moderator and will be published after approval.
What happens if I already used my one-time use link but didn't set my password?
If you click the one-time use link but then leave the account page without setting a password, you can contact reghelp@tableausoftware.com. Please include your user name in the email. You will be given a temporary password that you can use to log in. After that you should change your password to something you can remember.
