Dynamic Ranged Scale When Using Page Shelf
Posted April 29th, 2008 by corbinmatthews
Hello,
I'm curious how to ensure that Tableau creates a new scale for each page of data when using the page shelf. My workbook, as presently configured, uses one scale on the y-axis for all of the pages. When there are large outliers on one page of the data, the scale is quite inappropriate for most of the pages.
Please help!

Hi, so actually the page shelf always enforces a consistent axis range for every page so that you can quickly compare the data in each page. It would be difficult to identify breaks in a trend if the axes were changing for each page. If possible you can exclude the large outliers to adjust the range, or you can set a fixed axis range that is appropriate for most pages. Data that lies outside of the range will not be shown. You can set a fixed axis range by right-clicking the axis and selecting Edit Axis.
