Party Affiliation and Ideology Can Help Predict Preference for Cable News Channel

Based on a PEW survey conducted in June 2006, we can look how party affiliation and ideology are correlated with cable new channel preference. Is it a surprise that Democrats prefer CNN while Republicans prefer Fox News Channel? 17% of those who watch both Fox News Channel and CNN are primarily conservative Republicans and 23% are moderate Democrats. Color tells another story; the redder, the more news sources regularly used. Conservative Republicans don't use many news sources while moderate Democrats and Independents do.
