Although Americas 50 largest corporations by market cap have over $3.7 trillion in cash, it is easily offset by the massive debt surplus they carry, to the tune of $4.5 trillion. Of course, there are outliers in both directions. Goldman Sachs has built up an enormous cash reserve of greater than $400 billion, while GE has net debt of almost $500 billion.
