Game Reviews: Do They Matter?

Do game reviews have anything to do with sales? From the chart below, it would seem that they do, above an average Game Rankings score of 70. Below that level... its basically random! Seans second view shows something quite odd: as game reviews have decreased over time, sales have increased.
