We all know radiation has been a problem in Japan, but to what severity? This visualization shows the radiation levels in five Japanese cities over time, and the amount of time you would need to stay in those cities to experience radiation sickness.

Luckily, radiation levels are not as bad as some would have us think. Although areas directly next to the plants are at very high levels, the surrounding areas have not seen levels that would contribute significantly to health risks.
Statistic charts on the web should really be interactive. Until Tableau Public, that had never been easy. But now, I have a tool with which I can explain large and complex datasets in a clear, simple and engaging way.
