There is rarely a more moving and controversial topic than war. Andy Kirk of Visualising Data stirred some serious conversation this week with his post about the wikileaks Afghanistan war logs. Viewers commented on the variability in injuries and deaths between seasons, and the extremely high civilian casualty rates. The viz caused such a stir that Wiredre-published it!
About this Viz
This visualization is intended to show how casualties differ by season, and amongst the different belligerent forces. If there is a constant, it seems to be civilian casualties. An unfortunate trend, but an amazing visualization from Andy.
