Does the SAT or ACT Predict GPA Better?
Each bar in each of the cells in this "small multiple" shows us the average percent difference between predicted GPAs (using either the SAT or ACT score) and actual GPAs for combinations of Majors and Ethnicities. It appears both testing programs have their strengths and weaknesses in predicting GPA for this school. They both perform well for White students and just slightly worse for African American students; for other segments, their performances are less consistent.
